Prior to the merge with Colchester General Hospital to form ESNEFT, Ipswich Hospital made the move from manual to fully electric low height patient trolleys in 2017. The hospital wanted to make a conscious effort to improve patient safety and reduce the risk of manual handling injuries amongst clinicians. In 2016 Royal Glamorgan Hospital underwent a complete trolley replacement programme in their A&E department and chose Howard Wright as their preferred supplier, making the switch from manual trolleys to low height electric trolleys.
